Google uses artificial intelligence for song search

Now, this technology is available in the cloud through Sound Search – and is much more useful.

Knowing the songs of Google Now Playing appeared at the end of 2017 but was limited. When it appeared in Pixel 2, its data base on the device could only distinguish a relatively small number of songs.
Now, this technology is available in the cloud through Sound Search – and is much more useful.

The system still uses a nervous network to develop “fingerprints” by identifying each song and using a combination of algorithms to list a candidate list and to study those results.

Since everything happens on the server, Google does not face limitations in the processing power or storage with Sound Search.

It also increased the number of dimensions (fingerprint details) to reduce the amount of work and to doubled the density of these fingerprints. The result is knowing songs that may require a wider range of tunes and matched faster.

The company admits there is still work. His methods are not good at getting sound in the space especially loud, and it’s not as fast as it should be.
